There are approximately 600 to 700 procedures performed per year including the care and treatment of complex upper extremity fractures, upper extremity joint replacement and joint reconstruction, compass hinge and Ilizarov treatment, general polytrauma, and microvascular fibular grafting for avascular necrosis of the hip. There is a close association with the trauma team at St. Michael's Hospital, which sees approximately 550 ISS >16 polytrauma patients per year. There is a potential opportunity to participate as a trauma team leader.

Call responsibilities are modest, and the successful candidate is expected to be available for call when Dr. McKee is on call (approximately one night in seven). This is an educational and renumerative experience. Extra call is typically available, and is entirely up to the fellow's discretion.

Fellows are also expected to complete two clinically related research projects in their one year tenure.
